Australia in World War 1:
Although Australia was not threatened by the war, when Great Britain joined the war, they were also obliged to fight alongside them. Australia made it's involvement in the war on the 11th of September, 1914, when The Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force landed at Rabaul. The World War was addressed in Australia, as in many other countries, with great enthusiasm. At the time, war was thought of as a great thing, a way to show power and courage. So when they were needed, Australia had an immense amount of volunteers wanting to join the war.
